Ok, new year, new delusions about getting in shape and losing weight! I've decided to do something drastic....try a month of Medifast. Very low calorie (never a good idea) and high in protein (did I mention I'm almost a vegetarian?)..........so this should go well, right?
I've ordered it; "it" being a month's worth of (I just can't call it food) therapy (ha, that sounds better). But since it's not here yet, I'm going to have to try to do my own thing and hold the line until it gets here.
One important thing I need to do: stay out of the kitchen. For some reason, hanging out in the kitchen is what I do. It seems to me that I must think that doing almost anything in the family room labels me as LAZY. (Actually, hanging out in the kitchen is currently contributing to my label: FAT). It's so dang easy to either search for food in the cabinet or frig, or whip up something. And the "something" I whip up always involves sugar. So now I'm making an effort to stay out of the kitchen.
Did 2 ten minute sessions on the elliptical today, and expect to do more. The monitor said "2 miles," but I don't believe it. I use time as my measurment on the elliptical. It's too cold to hike or walk outside...12 degrees this a.m. A bit of snow on the ground, but the sun is out and the gale force winds we had over the w/e have stopped.
So...we're off. I'll figure up how many more miles to Moab and post it next time.
